Hi all!
Used.ca will be promoting, involved with, and sponsoring several events around the country this fall! Please see below for events in your community, and pick up some free stuff!!
September 18-19: “70 Mile Garage Sale” in PEI
This month will mark the 13th annual 70-Mile Coastal Yard Sale in PEI! Thousands of thrifty shoppers will walk, ride, and drive the coastline and backroads of South Eastern PEI to visit over 150 homes, community halls, churches, and small businesses selling just about anything you can think of. A detailed map of the route and listing of each site will be made available on the Yard Sale’s official site and in PEI Visitor Information Centres.
UsedPEI.com shopping bags will be there to spread the thrifty spirit – pick one up when you stop by!
September 22: “Mayor’s Golf Tournament” in Victoria
On September 22nd at the Gorge Vale Golf Course in Victoria, BC, Mayor Dean Fortin will be hosting 13th annual Mayor’s Golf Tournament. All proceeds from the event will go to the Youth Outreach Team (YOOTS), which works to direct young people into a positive lifestyle and to become productive citizens. Log on to http://www.vyes.ca/index.html to find out how you can support the cause or sign up to play.
UsedVictoria.com staff will be on the 10th hole with games, prizes, and hilarious give aways. We may even show up in angel costumes (see the halo on our logo if the reference isn’t clear :). If you have/find a costume we should sport for the event, send us a comment!
October 10: “GoodLife Victoria Marathon” on Vancouver Island
The deadline for registering as an early-bird for the annual GoodLife Marathon is in 3 days! If running is your shtick then be sure to sign up early and save some cash. The marathon will take place on October 10th and will host over 11,000 runners for a half-marathon, marathon, 8K road race, and the Thrifty Foods Kids Run & Marathon.
One of our very own, Sharene, will be blogging about her own personal countdown to the event and the trials and tribulations of a Wannabe Runner! We will also be cheering her on from the Wharf Street cheering station. Make sure to stop by for some UsedVictoria.com free stuff like zebra-stiped bandaids for the kids run (or yourself…).
