Our UsedEverywhere booth @ BlissDom Canada

Last week some of the women from UsedEverywhere picked up sticks and traveled to Toronto to sponsor BlissDom Canada 2011 — THE Canadian social media conference for women. Andrea, our uber-talented art director, put together a gorgeous and cozy booth furnished and decorated with high-end items bought off the Used sites. She also cast her keen eye over the sites to find some drool-inducing designer bags, clothes and accessories that we used for giveaways. Oh, yes and we even gave away the furniture! And by furniture, we’re talking a sofa, leather Barcelona chair, a bookcase… you name it!

The conference was a whirl of laughter, intelligent conversation and relationship building. From a CBC-hosted red carpet kick-off gala to hobnobbing over tasty catered lunches, Andrea,  Tish (our fearless leader), Lorilynn (Ottawa rep extraordinaire) and myself were given the rare opportunity connect offline with other women in social media. And connect we did! We met bloggers and Tweeters and Facebookers (oh, my!). We talked to women who write about motherhood and women who write about finances. We met entrepreneurs and we even met Anna Maria Tremonte (well, Tish did, anyway!)

The highlight of the conference for us was when we shared a glass of wine or three and a fabulous meal with a few of the Blissdom attendees at Toronto’s renowned Table 17 (many, many thanks to Erik Joyal et al.) Such a lovely evening! Our only regret? Not being able to invite everyone! Maybe next year?

Of course we made some great connections, but more importantly I feel like we made some great friends. We look forward to tending to the new relationships that sprung from our time at BlissDom Canada. We also want to thank the organizers, the other sponsors and most of all, the amazing women who came and sat on our couch and shared a little bit about themselves. Here’s to the start of some beautiful friendships.
