UsedBlog

144 and 4 days old

4 days after Canada Day, it is customary to wish our southern neighbours a Happy Independence Day! It is also customary to note that we are now dead smack in the middle of summer! July is well underway and June is ancient history, so let us briefly relive it in case you missed anything!

The hottest of the hot on Twitter this month was this link I sent out from @MotherNatureNet about garbage ship setting sail. The people loved it:

We also encouraged the hatching of a plan, a garage sale-twitter plan. Let’s start using the hashtag #yyjGarageSale for garage sale listings in Victoria – easily expandable to your area. Winnipeg: #ywgGarageSale, Ottawa: #yowGarageSale. Genius, no? And don’t forget to advertise it on your local UsedXYZ.com, too!

On Facebook we were so excited to share just another one of Dan’s (our Victoria Angel) good deeds. He helped recently-widowed Fran sell some of her late-husband’s tools. You were all just as proud of him as we are, great work, Dan!

Other big news on Facebook was of course the building excitement…

…and the disappointing loss of the Stanley Cup for the Vancouver Canucks. The riots that followed…

… and the good people who helped clean up after them.

The Used Blog had its fair share of excitement as well, with lots of great posts like this one about Father’s Day, this one for deodorizing used furniture, and this story about a cherished found item. Perhaps our most popular post in June was all about one fun summer activity in particular, and just how great our sites are for finding the right equipment: Camping!

Let’s hope July is just as great as June was!
