UsedVictoria.com Supports Victoria’s Autism Awareness Walk and Breathe Now Conference This Weekend

UsedVictoria.com is proud to participate in, and contribute to, a pair of important Victoria-area community events this weekend – Victoria’s Autism Awareness Walk and the Breathe Now conference.
The Austism Awareness Walk takes place Sunday April 15th at the University of Victoria from 8:30AM-1:30PM. The YAM Magazine Autism Awareness Walk is Vancouver Island’s largest autism awareness event. The event includes a 4k walk and a 8k run to raise funds and awareness to help local children with autism.
“One of our mandates at UsedVictoria.com is to seek out and support events that give back directly to our community,” says Erin Richards, UsedVictoria.com Marketing Director. “We are excited to be involved with the Autism Walk because all funds raised will go to help families and kids right here in the Victoria area.”
Used Victoria is an ‘Autism Friend’ level sponsor and will also have a booth at the event. The booth will be a hub of activity with face painting and a draw for a “swag bag”. The booths at the Autism Awareness Walk and at the Breathe Now conference will be completely furnished with used items purchased from local residents on UsedVictoria.com.
Used Victoria is also a sponsor of The Breathe Now conference running April 14-15th at UVic. Breathe Now is a conference for women organized by women and it includes keynote addresses by Bif Naked and Rona Maynard. The conference is designed to empower local women to explore different facets of their lives by sharing experiences and strategies in hopes that participating women can be the best they can be.
“Women are some of our main users and so we are particularly interested in being involved with events that celebrate women and help them become their healthiest selves,” says Richards.
