Victoria, B.C. – March 22, 2013

The UsedVictoria.com Community Angel Program is honoured to have contributed $400 to the Plunkett family to help with Justin’s Bucket List. Justin Plunkett’s story is well known and his courage is an inspiration to many.

He was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer in 2010. After a courageous fight, which included 30 radiation treatments and nine months of chemotherapy, Justin and his family were given the all clear. This past fall they received word that the tumours had returned. Doctors have now shifted their focus to comfort and quality of life.

While Justin continues to fight, his family has reached out to their community for support with medical and travel costs, and to help cross things off Justin’s Bucket List. The goal is to raise enough money for Justin to do the things on his Bucket List before he’s too sick to be able to leave the hospital.

Justin’s story has moved the community into action with many great fundraisers and UsedVictoria.com has an idea for those who would like to chip in, but may not have the means.

UsedVictoria.com encourages its users to put things they no longer need up for sale on the site with the goal of donating the proceeds to Justin’s Bucket List. Please include hashtag #JustinsBucketList in your UsedVictoria.com ad post so people can search for ads that are donating proceeds to this great cause.

Justin’s Mom Colleen is very grateful for all of the support and she wants those who donate to know what it means to Justin. She personally thanked UsedVictoria.com’s staff with this touching note:

“I would like to thank you for the donation which helped my son Justin cross an item off his Bucket List. We used some of the funds donated to help pay for his best friend Lucas come with us on his Help Fill a Dream experience. Nothing like going on a trip with your best friend, who has been there since they were in diapers – they are more like cousins. Our family would not have been able to pay the extra costs to bring his best friend. Thank you again for being there to help us out.”
