UsedVancouver.com Sponsors Car Seat Recycling Initiative at Bellies to Babies

April 25, 2013

Vancouver, B.C. – UsedVancouver.com announced today that they have once again partnered with the Bellies to Babies Vancouver Trade Show for their car seat recycling campaign.

Lower Mainland parents are encouraged to bring their expired infant car seats or booster seats during the Bellies To Babies Vancouver Trade Show at the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver on May 5, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for recycling.

The Bellies to Babies event offers new and expectant parents a large venue to shop, learn, and seek out community resources. Admission is by donation. New or expecting parents can participate in workshops with community baby experts and discover resources with a wide range of exhibitors.

“Partnering with Bellies to Babies is a perfect fit for UsedVancouver.com because we are dedicated to reducing landfill waste,” said Suzanne Bertani, Social Media Producer for UsedVancouver.com. “Car seats contain flame retardant chemicals so we are pleased to be working with Gibsons Recycling Depot and they will be deconstructing the car seats on our behalf and recycling the metal and plastic.”

Car seats are one of the most important investments parents make but it is difficult to find a recycling centre that will take back car seats when they have reached their expiration date.

Donations are welcome for this service, but the focus of this initiative is to raise awareness and keep car seats out of the landfills.
