UsedOttawa.com Partners with the Popular Home Renovation Reality Series ‘All For Nothing?’ on W Network

Ottawa, ON – October 1st, 2012

UsedOttawa.com announced today a partnership with home renovation reality series ‘All For Nothing?’. UsedOttawa’s online classifieds Free section, its community-driven, grass-roots users and its extensive home reno listings are a great fit with the show’s theme of recycling, getting creative and renovating your home on a very tight budget.

Airing across Canada on the popular W Network, ‘All For Nothing?’ features two households who face the challenge of fixing up their design-deficient houses on a next to zero budget. Participants must find creative ways to collect items and get help from their community for renovations to update their homes with a pre-listing makeover. The sellers with the highest increase in value at the end of their two week renovation, wins.

“UsedOttawa is a great tool for the show’s participants when they are searching for items and looking for help on their limited budget,” said Erin Richards, Used.ca Marketing Coordinator. “They are able to browse the site for free and very inexpensive used items, and they can also put a call out to the community for assistance.”

In each show the two sets of homeowners compete for a valuable prize: the commission-free listing services of top realtor, Paul Rushforth. The homeowners also receive ideas and tips from Rushforth and from award-winning designer, Penny Southam throughout the renovation process.

“Right now, our biggest priority is finding UsedOttawa users who want to be on the show or help participants in some way,” added Richards. “Anyone can be involved by adding the hash tag #UsedAFNTV to their ads offering casting help, furniture or renovation supplies and services.”

“The partnership with UsedOttawa.com and ‘All For Nothing?’ is a natural fit as many of our participant homeowners in the last thirty-four episodes have used this site as a resource.  We are excited to see what happens now with the creation of the hashtag  #UsedAFNTV.  It’s a great way to get the community involved in these renovations,”  said Lisa Nault, Producer of ‘All For Nothing?’.

Production and filming is taking place this fall with new episodes airing early in 2013.
