Local Fashionistas to Exchange Lightly Used Clothing at Swapapalooza – Where
Ottawa Residents will Reduce, Reuse and Recycle while Updating their Wardrobes

Ottawa, ON. – Nov.15, 2011

In partnership with UsedOttawa.com, Apartment 613’s ‘Support Local Month’ and Bowich – Best Organic
Sandwich, EF Magazine is proud to present Ottawa’s first annual SWAPAPALOOZA Clothes Swap. Come
one, come all, men and women. Drop in anytime between 7-10 p.m. on Friday, November 18th at
Bowich – 155 Bank Street. Bring a friend. It’s open to the public.

Local residents are encouraged to bring three pieces (or more) of washed, gently used clothing, boots,
jackets and accessories. Swapapalooza attendees can take home as many items as they wish for free.
There will be an optional door donation for CAYFO (Child and Youth Friendly Ottawa) and all unclaimed
clothing items will be donated to charity.

“Clothes swaps are a great way to free up space in your closet, give new life to unwanted pieces and
recycle clothing,” says Editor-in-Chief of EF Magazine, Malorie Bertrand.

Event sponsor UsedOttawa.com will be providing re-useable tote bags for the event, and working with
all of the participants to promote sustainability and the overall theme that “one man’s/woman’s trash
can be another’s treasure”.

“We want to encourage people to utilize UsedOttawa.com for organizing clothing swaps, selling or
giving away their old clothes and for seeking other people’s used treasures, between swaps,” says
Jordan-Baas, UsedOttawa.com Marketing Coordinator. “We love supporting local reduce-reuse-recycle
efforts, and that we love getting involved with and promoting local events.”

When/ Where: Friday, November 18th 7-10 p.m. @ Bowich – 155 Bank Street, Ottawa, ON.
