Charlottetown, PEI – Jan. 10, 2013

UsedPEI.com and its Community Angel Program recently helped a Charlottetown mom with several items she needed as she prepares for the birth of her second child.
Lacey (requested first name only) is a stay at home mother of a two-year-old boy and is expecting a baby girl in March. She shared her story in a free classified ad on UsedPEI.com. Lacey mentioned that she was in need of help with baby supplies because she has limited income and has very little support from her family or friends.

“When we saw Lacey’s ad we immediately wanted to help,” said Alicia Packwood, UsedPEI Community Angel. “The community support was overwhelming and we were able to get Lacey everything she and her kids will need.”

The UsedPEI team collected requested items including a swing, bath tub, baby girl clothes, diapers, breast pump, nursing pillow, baby monitors, play mat, bath towel set, snow suit and toys for Lacey.

“When the UsedPEI Community Angels walked in with the bags of stuff I felt like I was having a baby shower,” said Lacey. “There were so many nice outfits, a cute safari themed swing, diapers, some toys, the play mat, bath tub and other things. It really meant a lot to me to know that there are people out there who are able to help young families in need.”

UsedPEI Community Angels and UsedEverywhere Angels across the country are on the lookout for families in need in their respective communities. There are similar examples of good deeds being done in cities from Charlottetown, PEI to Victoria, BC.
