Community Coordinator Collective

Each month our Community Coordinators come together to share who or what in their community is inspiring them. This month, being Movember, their focus is on men’s grooming.

A big shout out to all the Used.ca communities that inspire us everyday!

UsedHalifax.com

Erin chose Saint Lou’s Gentlemen’s Barbershop. Follow them on Twitter: @Saintlousbarber

This little hideaway is located in Halifax’s Historic Properties. So, when you head down for your hair cut and beard trim, you feel like you’re stepping back in time. They even offer a tidy up of those pesky neck hairs with straight blade and hot towel.

It’s a pretty simple set up – two beautiful red chairs, caters exclusively to men and doesn’t require an appointment – but offers a great vibe and reasonable prices. The owner also happens to be Haligonian, born and raised.

Community Coordinator, Lisa, chose House of Barons, 481 Sussex Drive, downtown Ottawa.
Facebook: House of Barons.

More than just a barbershop, the House of Barons is the ultimate gentleman’s club of men’s grooming – beverages, warm towels, razor shaves, and perfect vintage decor. As a gal, I’ve never been to a barbershop, but all the reviews on Yelp, Facebook, FourSquare, etc, tell me that this barbershop is what barbershops should be.

An official Movember rated barbershop, the House Of Barons is a best in class barbershop dedicated to fine grooming, fine moustaches, and changing the face of men’s health. No appointments necessary, “Walkens” accepted all day.

UsedPEI.com

OT Hairdressers, Kirkwood Mews, 393 University Ave, Charlottetown. Chosen by our Community Coordinators Lorenda and Alicia.

A small local business here in Charlottetown. When you walk in, they are fully decorated with an NHL theme throughout the store! A neat thing they do for kids first haircuts, is give them a mini Stanley cup trophy to take home!

UsedVancouver.com

Lisa chose Farzad’s Barber Shop 126-1208 Homer Street, Vancouver.

Farzad’s Barber shop is a gentleman’s hair care hot spot . This no-fuss shop caters to men who want a classic cut. No pampering services here, just a good ‘ol fashioned shave and a haircut.

UsedVictoria.com

Coordinator, Carly, chose The Copper Hat who also featured in our Movember giveaway this month.

Local business The Copper Hat is truly bringing class back to shaving while helping the environment. Their upcycled vintage razors and shaving brushes promote the old school art of shaving where not a single item ends up in the landfill. Man these guys are sharp!

So these are our favourites of the month, who is inspiring you this month?
