Qualifications:
● 5+ years of claims handling experience, with a focus on personal auto
● CIP designation
● Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
● Strong knowledge of insurance principles and claims practices in British Columbia
● Familiarity with regulatory expectations (e.g., fair claims handling, privacy requirements)
● Excellent communication, coaching, and decision-making skills
● Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Duties:
● Supervise and mentor a team of claims handlers, providing guidance and performance management
● Oversee the handling of auto claims from FNOL (First Notice of Loss) through to resolution
● Ensure claims are managed in accordance with internal policies, insurer guidelines, and BC regulatory requirements
● Review complex or escalated claims and provide direction on coverage and settlement decisions
● Monitor team productivity, service levels, and quality metrics
● Support audits, compliance reviews, and reporting requirements
● Collaborate with broker partners and internal stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently
● Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices
